Java/Web Developer
We are seeking Java and Web Application developers who hold a BS in
Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline. Employment
would be in our home office in the Hampton Roads, Virginia area.
Entry Level positions open also.
Selected candidate will be subject to a background investigation.
Candidate Skills will include:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must have a high level of professionalism, integrity, and a strong commitment to quality, ability to multi-task, and meet project deadlines
- Ability to gather effective functional requirements and write detailed design documentation
- Develop and implement solutions
- Sound analytical problem solving abilities
- Ability to troubleshoot complex problems
- Work effectively with multiple teams on various design, development, and production issues, and
- Experience with Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) a plus
Java Developer Skills will include:
- 2+ years experience in application development utilizing Java
- Experience with Swing, and
- Experience with CORBA, Web Services, XML, and Hibernate a plus
Web Developer Skills will include:
- 2 to 5 years of web design and development experience
- Knowledge of Java, HTML, JavaScript, AJAX, PHP, XML, and Web Services
- Knowledge of Apache Web Server and Tomcat
- Experience with Apache Wicket and Dojo Toolkit a plus
- Experience with Internet/web architecture
- Build effective web interfaces to databases to ensure transition to dynamic delivery of content versus static web pages
- Ability to manage many facets of web design, development, maintenance, and design concise and professional graphics and navigation
Other Desired Skills will include:
- Relational Database (Oracle, PostgreSQL)
- Open Source Software (Apache, Tomcat, JBoss, JacORB, etc.)
- Knowledge of software build and deployment processes and procedures such as Ant and Eclipse
