Systems Integration Technician – Chesapeake, VA
Open Roads Consulting Security Systems Integration Group (SSIG) is
seeking an experienced Systems Integration Technician. This position
requires a person capable of the installation of wiring, mounting and
termination of devices on Vindicator Access control/Intrusion detection
systems, CCTV and Fiber Optic detection systems within Government facilities.
After the installation is complete this individual will need the skills to
program, calibrate and test the functionality of all systems. Successful
candidates should possess, as a minimum, experience in personal computer
architecture, software, basic computer networking and Vindicator control
systems. A strong commitment to customer relations is a requirement. Candidates
should have electronics and/or a security systems background including excellent
electronic, organizational, communication and computer skills (advanced network
experience a plus). Individuals need to be goal oriented, ambitious, accept
empowerment with boundaries, self-motivated with desires to work within cross
functional team environments yet performs well working alone.
Tasks and Responsibilities will include:
- Install, program, test, generate graphics and document functionality of Vindicator, Fiber Optic and CCTV control systems in government facilities
- Trouble-shoots, diagnoses system malfunctions and repairs defective equipment
- Work/coordinate with engineers and project managers to facilitate smooth and timely installations of systems
- Responsible for Customer Satisfaction with the contractors and end users of the systems installed
- Extensive travel both National and international 60% or more

Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Minimum 3 years experience in the Security systems industry
- Minimum 5 years experience in computer operations (personal computer, networking and related Control systems software)
- Valid driver's license
- Available to travel National/International
- US Passport
- Ability to obtain US secret clearance
- Must be able to pass a drug test and criminal/credit background investigation
Additional Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or higher preferred
- Understanding of NICET, NFPA regulations
- Demonstrated planning and organizational skills
- Effective written and verbal communication ability
- Ability to influence others with fact based data in order to drive change, meet deadlines, exceed goals and continue to improve customer satisfaction
- Fiber Optic certification
- Secret clearance or higher
- ANSI certification
- Vindicator Certification(s)
