Lead Web Developer/Java Developer – Chesapeake, VA

Open Roads Consulting (http://www.openroadsconsulting.com) is seeking a Web Developer with experience in developing/designing web applications and websites utilizing Java and JavaScript, to work in our home office in the Hampton Roads, Virginia area.  This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual who is interested in furthering their career in the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) field.

Skills:

• 8+ years software experience with Java and JavaScript
• 8+ years experience using Web applications, GIS, Virtualization, Open Source Software, Networks, Data mining
• Software: J2EE, HTML, CSS, SQL, Dojo, Wicket, Flash, Flex, Pipes
• Extensive experience with GWT
• Tools: JBoss, Eclipse, Subversion, Hudson, Oracle
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment
• Ability to advise/lead/train others in web-related skills
• Ability to communicate ideas and concepts to technical and non technical audience
• Excellent written, communication, organization, presentation skills
• Ability to develop core framework architecture
• Ability to analyze user needs to determine technical requirements.
• Knowledge of Web Hosting environments
• Experience with bandwidth and load balancing requirements

Education:

• Degree in  Computer Science or related discipline
