Open Roads Consulting developed the Web-based application for viewing CCTV imagery from the Northern Virginia Smart Traffic Center (STC) to other public safety and transportation management agencies in the metropolitan Washington D.C. region. The system is designed to deliver video with minimal degradation to the original signal.

Inter-Agency Cooperation

In addition to the STC imagery, the project includes the integration of traffic camera imagery from the following agences into a single, regional public safety video distribution system:

  • Maryland State Highway Administration
  • DC Department of Transportation
  • Montgomery County Department of Public Works and Transportation

This system will be extended throughout the state of Virginia, bringing video to hundreds of first responders and other agencies.
